IMPORTANT NOTICE: Global Production Lead Times Please Read Before Ordering: Due to unprecedented global demand stemming from current geopolitical developments - including the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict - and a heightened global awareness of energy fragility, our standard production lead time for all out-of-stock and manufactured items has temporarily increased from our historical 1-2 weeks to four (4) months until further notice. Please factor this timeline into your planning before completing your purchase.
Important Warning for US Customers: U.S. Government Import Duties and Tariffs Please Note: All import duties, tariffs, and customs fees are dictated strictly by United States federal trade policy. EcoInnovation has absolutely no control over these mandates, receives no financial benefit from them, and is entirely independent of U.S. executive trade decisions.
Tariff Rate History and Current Status: U.S. trade policy regarding imported goods has undergone multiple rapid adjustments recently under the Trump administration. The general tariff rate for standard/predominantly plastic goods originally sat at 15%, was subsequently reduced to 10%, and has most recently been altered to 12.5%. Because a large portion of our products are predominantly plastic, this 12.5% federal duty typically applies to standard orders.
Predominantly Metal / Steel Goods (e.g., Coanda Screens): Under separate, ongoing U.S. Section 232 trade determinations, goods made entirely or predominantly of steel or aluminum are subject to a protective import surcharge of 50%. Please note that U.S. Customs calculates tariffs cumulatively. This means the 50% steel tariff is applied in addition to the 12.5% standard baseline tariff, meaning the total import duties assessed on predominantly steel components will effectively reach 62.5% of the product's assessed value.
Payment Process and Liability: DHL will email you an official duty assessment when your shipment arrives in the US, which must be paid within 5 working days. All import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the sole responsibility of the purchaser and are not included in our website prices or freight charges.
If you fail to pay the mandated U.S. government duty within 5 working days, DHL will automatically return the goods to EcoInnovation.
Because DHL international return freight costs are charged at the higher retail rates, the combined total of outbound freight, return freight, and non-refundable Shopify payment processing fees frequently exceeds the original purchase price. Consequently, if the total operational costs exceed the amount paid for the order:
EcoInnovation reserves the right to order the destruction of the goods rather than having them physically returned.
No refund will be issued, and you will not be entitled to any credit, as the incurred return and processing costs outweigh the order value.
If an eligible refund would otherwise exist after these deductions, those third-party operational and freight costs will be strictly deducted from that amount.

Introduction This website is operated by EcoInnovation LTD, a New Zealand-registered company trading globally in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Throughout this site and these Terms and Conditions, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to EcoInnovation LTD.
EcoInnovation offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from it, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not access the website or use any services.
EcoInnovation reserves the right to improve or modify products at any time and to amend these Terms and Conditions without notice. Specific terms may apply to individual products or services and, where applicable, will override these general Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to refuse service to any person for any reason at any time.
Safety EcoInnovation takes the safe and responsible handling of its products very seriously. We endeavour to reduce risks associated with the use of our turbines and related equipment and warn users of potential hazards in product documentation.
Customers must familiarise themselves thoroughly with all installation manuals and verify correct installation, operation and maintenance procedures before commencing installation. Customers who disregard hazards or instructions outlined in manuals do so entirely at their own risk.
EcoInnovation is not liable for damage caused by incorrect installation, charge controller failure, or failure of other system components. Electrical generators and motors must be handled, installed and operated with extreme care. We strongly recommend that systems are installed by suitably qualified professionals.
Voltage thresholds for homeowner installation vary by country but are typically limited to 75 Vdc and 50 Vac. Some jurisdictions allow installations up to 120 Vdc. EcoInnovation does not recommend self-installation unless the installer is suitably qualified and experienced, and then only within these limits. Grid-tied systems and higher-voltage MPPT applications must be installed by approved renewable energy installers and must comply with all applicable legislation.
Customer Site Data and Communication Many EcoInnovation products are manufactured specifically for individual sites. We may therefore require accurate site and system information to design and manufacture your product correctly. All hydro turbines require a valid calculation using the appropriate calculation tool.
Our ability to deliver a suitable and successful solution depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. Requests for information must be responded to promptly and respectfully. We reserve the right to refuse service where required information is not provided, is materially inaccurate, or where communication is abusive. In such cases, any refund will be subject to our refund policy (Sections 14-17).
Warranties EcoInnovation warrants all products manufactured by EcoInnovation for a minimum of 12 months, unless stated otherwise.
Unless explicitly stated, all warranties are return-to-base warranties. Returned items must be shipped to EcoInnovation at the purchaser's expense. Customers must review warranty terms carefully before submitting a claim.
PowerSpout warranty terms for complete hydro and pump products are provided in the relevant PowerSpout warranty documentation. Other EcoInnovation products have warranty details specified in their respective manuals.
If genuine parts are fitted correctly to PowerSpout products within the original warranty period, the original warranty remains valid. If genuine parts are fitted outside the warranty period, a 6-month warranty applies to the replacement parts only.
Products supplied but not manufactured by EcoInnovation are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. EcoInnovation will honour such warranties where the manufacturer or supplier does so.
DIY Parts DIY parts are supplied without warranty. Responsibility rests entirely with the designer or builder to ensure suitability for the intended application, including appropriate testing and validation.
Installation Warranties EcoInnovation may install renewable energy systems in New Zealand or internationally, including remote locations. On-site warranties may be offered for an additional annual fee and must be quoted separately.
Standard product warranties do not include on-site service or repair. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all goods must be returned to EcoInnovation for repair at the customer's expense.
Payment All invoices are issued and settled in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Where prices or totals are displayed in foreign currencies, such amounts are indicative only and provided for customer convenience. Currency conversions do not reflect the final amount charged or refunded.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, primarily Shopify Payments. Starting July 17, 2026, Shopify applies an automated, non-refundable card processing fee structure depending on the transaction type:
Domestic Online Cards: 2.65% + $0.30 per transaction
International Online Cards: 3.30% + $0.30 per transaction
These transaction processing fees are automatically retained by Shopify at checkout and are not returned to EcoInnovation if an order is later cancelled or refunded. Consequently, the applicable fee based on your payment method will be strictly deducted from any customer-initiated refund or cancellation, to the extent permitted by New Zealand consumer law (see Sections 14-17).
Taxes New Zealand GST is charged only on goods shipped to a New Zealand delivery address.
Export orders are not charged New Zealand GST. International customers may be liable for GST/VAT, customs duties, and import fees upon arrival in their country. These costs are not included in product prices, freight, or insurance and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
PowerSpout Dealers Where possible, customers are encouraged to purchase PowerSpout products through authorised dealers. Purchasing locally may provide benefits such as local currency invoicing, customs handling, local consumer protections, and in-country technical support.
If no local dealer exists, we recommend purchasing through one of our GOLD dealers, who have the highest level of experience and can provide remote support.
Freight and Delivery Order Processing Times:
In-stock items (no manufacturing): 2-4 full working days
Out-of-stock items (no manufacturing): 5-10 full working days
Manufactured items: Approximately four (4) months. As noted at the start of these terms, global geopolitical demand shifts and the U.S.-Iran conflict have temporarily extended our historical 1-2 week lead times to 4 months.
EcoInnovation is completely closed from the Friday before Christmas until the second Monday of the New Year.
Freight Times: Freight times are additional to processing times and exclude customs clearance delays.
Freight Insurance: Insurance coverage depends on the freight method and order value. Where insurance is optional and not purchased, the customer accepts full freight risk.
Freight Damage Goods must be inspected on delivery prior to signing. Damage must be noted at delivery and reported within 5 working days with photographs. Failure to comply may void insurance coverage.
Limitation of Liability EcoInnovation complies with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where applicable. Custom-made products are not standard consumer goods and are not eligible for return under consumer law.
EcoInnovation is not liable for damage arising from customer or third-party installation, misuse, or failure to comply with instructions or regulations. EcoInnovation is not liable for consequential losses, including those arising from regulator or third-party equipment failure.
Regulations Customers must comply with all applicable electrical and safety regulations in their jurisdiction. EcoInnovation accepts no liability for breaches of local law by customers or contractors.
Returns and Order Cancellations Returns and order cancellations require prior written approval from EcoInnovation, unless rights arise under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
Approved returns or cancellations must comply with all applicable conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions. Where a return or cancellation is initiated by the customer and is not due to a fault with the goods, the customer acknowledges and agrees that unavoidable third-party costs will be deducted from any refund.
For the avoidance of doubt, non-refundable payment processing fees and foreign exchange losses apply equally to order cancellations and to physical returns, regardless of whether goods have been dispatched.
Customer-initiated cancellations or returns are subject to:
Non-refundable third-party merchant processing fees (Shopify success fees as detailed in Section 7)
Foreign exchange conversion losses, margins, and bank fees where payment was made in a currency other than NZD
Any applicable processing fees or deductions set out in Sections 7, 16, and 17
Where goods are required to be returned, approved returns must be received by EcoInnovation within 14 days of return authorisation and must meet all return condition requirements.
Faulty Goods All faulty goods must be returned for assessment. Refunds or replacements apply only where a manufacturing fault is confirmed. No refunds apply for misuse, incorrect installation, or R&D/DIY use.
Refunds Refunds are processed in NZD only and exclude freight charges incurred by EcoInnovation.
For stock items not dispatched, a processing fee of $100 NZD or 10% (whichever is greater) applies. Custom-made items are non-refundable.
Refunds and Foreign Exchange Loss All refunds are calculated, approved, and processed strictly in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
For all customer-initiated cancellations or refunds, the original payment processing success fee charged by Shopify (effective July 17, 2026, at the rates outlined in Section 7) will be deducted from the final refund amount.
Where payment was made in a currency other than NZD, the refunded amount is subject to:
Exchange rates in effect at the time of the refund
Foreign exchange margins applied by the payment gateway
Additional fees or margins applied by the customer's bank or card issuer
EcoInnovation has no control over these exchange rates, margins, or fees and accepts no liability for currency conversion losses. Accordingly, the final refunded amount may be materially less than the original amount paid, even where no additional cancellation or processing fees are applied by EcoInnovation.
Illustrative example (non-binding): A payment of $1,000 USD may incur:
Non-refundable Shopify processing fee: Either 2.65% + $0.30 ($26.80 USD for Domestic Online), 3.30% + $0.30 ($33.30 USD for International Online), or 1.80% + $0.30 ($18.30 USD for In-Person transactions).
Foreign exchange conversion losses and margins (typically 3-5% for international transactions): An additional $30-$50 USD loss depending on currency shifts.
This may result in a total net refund significantly lower than the original checkout amount, depending entirely on the card tier used, transaction type, market exchange rates, and financial institution charges at the exact time of the refund.
Accuracy, Completeness and Timeliness of Information EcoInnovation is not responsible if information provided on this site is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Information is provided for general purposes only and should not be relied upon without consulting more accurate, complete, or timely sources.
Historical information on this site is for reference only. EcoInnovation may modify site content at any time without obligation to update existing information. Users are responsible for monitoring changes.
Intellectual Property Rights All intellectual property rights in this site, including copyright in text, graphics, logos, software, and icons, are owned by or licensed to EcoInnovation.
