The High Current Upgrade builds your turbine to handle a continuous output above 30A. It is a per turbine option and must be ordered at the same time as the turbine it applies to, as the higher rated output components are fitted while your turbine is built.
You need this upgrade if your turbine produces more than 30A short circuit current. This is usually the case on low voltage systems — typically where the load voltage is below 50V. Your calculation results tell you the current each turbine will produce, so check them if you are unsure. The PowerSpout Advanced Calculator works this out for you.
With the upgrade fitted, the turbine output is rated to 50A. Without it, a turbine run above 30A will run hot and the output components will be worked beyond their rating.
The upgrade is available for the PLT, TRG, LH and LH Pro. Where a system uses more than one turbine, order one upgrade for each turbine that exceeds 30A.
